ted talks not to miss

Why would I include videos here that address subjects like the following?

  • The Power of Vulnerability
  • The Brain in Love
  • Why We Love and Why We Cheat
  • The Secret to Desire in Long Term Relationships
I recommend them to you because these subjects are quite common in the context of polyamorous relationships, especially when we conduct both long term relationships and engage in new love relationships.  Lots of people handle this well, but most of them had to learn how to do this.  In order to learn how, we first have to understand the basics of human nature, i.e. why we feel and act as we do sexually and emotionally, and why this sometimes raises conflict that feels very threatening to our wellbeing.

Polyamory?

Polyamory can be defined in many ways.

The basic idea is that a person who is polyamorous is not (get this) monogamous, at least not necessarily.  A person who is in a polyamorous relationship may find themselves in a monogamous circumstance because neither person is currently involved with another person.  Although one or both of them may find themselves interested in others at some later time.  In that case honesty, openness, and a little courage can make both free to pursue what they want, when they want it.
